Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein admits offering movie roles for sex
The sex-for-movie-roles scandals which Nollywood producers have been accused of aren’t actually limited to the Nigerian movie industry.
Disgraced American movie producer Harvey Weinstein who was once at the top of Hollywood, has finally admitted to some of the sexual harassment allegations put forward by his alleged victims.
In an interview published yesterday, the disgraced movie producer said he offered acting jobs in exchange for sex just like every other producers.
He however said he has never in his life forced himself on women.
Here is what he told The Spectator columnist Taki Theodoracopulos.
Yes, I did offer them acting jobs in exchange for sex. But so did and still does everyone.
I was born poor, ugly, Jewish and had to fight all my life to get somewhere. You got lots of girls, no girl looked at me until I made it big in Hollywood.
His lawyer, Ben Brafman who admitted that Weinstein granted the interview to Taki however said what was reported about the producer was not accurate.
On the 5th of June 2018, Weinstein entered a not guilty plea at a New York Courthouse when he was arraigned on rape and criminal sex act charges.
Although dozens of women have accused him of sexual harassment, the 66-year-old movie mogul had denied all the allegations.
He has been granted $1 million bail.
